Kyle takes out "Little Bunny Foo Foo" in the 2018 Subaru Outback

In April, 2018, Kyle was driving Wendy's brand new Subaru Outback to school. As he was driving about 50 MPH West on Baseline road, he noticed a bunny in the road ahead ... but it scampered off to the side. But then just as Kyle drove by, it jumped out ... and he heard a big THUMP. While I feel bad for the bunny, Kyle did exactly as we have discussed - do NOT swerve ... because going off the side of the road would be much worse than replacing the grill which would be about $400.

When Dirk heard the story, he said "you hit Little Bunny Foo Foo"
Kyle response was "No, it was Peter Rotten-Tail"
Wendy was out of town for a couple of weeks, so we'll be curious to see if she she notices when she gets home.


Update:So Wendy gets back and doesn't notice for a few days. While driving in her car, she talks about seeing a squirrel and I ask what she would do if it jumped out in the road to which she correctly replies "hit it rather than risk swerving" ... and I ask "even with your new car" and she says "YES!" I tell Kyle that story and we both get a good chuckle ... ;-)

A day later, she comes home from work with wet leaves stuck to her car. I'm helping her get them off and I tell her to "make sure you get them all off the front grill" ... which she does ... but does NOT notice the damage. In her defense, it's actually hard to see since without the flash, as it is dark in the recessed area.

So later on with Wendy present, I'm making some snickering comments with Kyle ... and she picks up that something must be amiss with the front of the car. So she goes out to look very closely ... and says, "HEY Kyle, you ruined my new car and that will cost $5,000 to fix." As Wendy is known to do, she was embellishing a bit ... but she took it pretty well once she heard the whole story. In fact, when we called Dirk up to tell him that Mom now knew, Wendy sang the Little Bunny Foo Foo song! ;-)

Below is the picture that Kyle texted me the morning of April 14th, 2018 from school along with the note that
      "Hit a bunny on the way to school cause it jumped out at the last second. There is a hole in front of the grill."
This a cropped and enhanced version of what he sent ... so when I looked at the original on my phone, I couldn't tell there is any damage or any bunny hairs. So I thought Kyle was just messing with me! ;-)
