Charter Boat Leaves Steward Alaska

After surprising Kurt in Seward it was time to board out charter fishing boat. It was a darn foggy morning in the early dawn light, but everyone was quite excited to land some big fish. The main ones of interest were Alaska silver salmon, ling cod, and hopefully some monster Alaska halibut.

The annual Seward, Alaska fishing tournament was starting that day, but the rules were you had to stay in the Bay. Captain Kevin (great guy) informed us that the action in the Bay was OK, but he had some spots that promised a lot more fishin' action, but we would have to motor out a ways, plus anything caught there would not be elgible for the tournament. Captain Crudd (aka Kurt) said we came here for fishin' - so it was an easy decision - we headed out! Kurt's zodiac boat would have been a bit faster, but Kevin had surface radar to keep an eye on the heavy boat traffic in the dense fog, plus GPS to take us right to the hot fishing locations.

Our fishing charter boat returned to Seward in the afternoon ... with 400+ pounds of fish - time to fire up the BBQ and some grill recipes! ;-)
