To: alek@komar.org Words can not describe how frustrating it was to watch the SAA747 leave WITHOUT us from Miami ... especially since we knew that there was no other flight for 24 hours. However, thanx to the assistance from the Station Manager; we managed to get on the next day's flight ... and after a 13+ hour flight, we arrived in Cape Town, South Africa. Wendy slept like a baby on most of the flight and Alek tossed-n-turned ... NOT a good thing to do. The weather in Cape Town was beautiful, and Wendy would not let Alek rest for a minute (8 hour time zone difference) as we went to the top of Table Mountain straightaway and toured the Waterfront. Saw our first wildlife ... an animal that is the closest living relative to the elephant - a "dassie" ... which is basically an overgrown rat! We then took an early evening flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg - got invited to watch the landing from the cockpit of the SAA A-300! ;-) We are about to crash at the "Grace Hotel" (nice place!!!) and we leave tomorrow morning on an "Air Botswana" flight to safari. Things are looking up now! Alek & Wendy
