We have many students from across 3rd through 5th writing lots of material. Many thanks to our wonderful Parents/Editorial Advisors (Lisa LaFond, Kuang Yi, Paula Conroy, Alek Komarnitsky, Roman Mica and Michele Leifer) who have been working with the students to develop topics & angles, prepare interview questions and begin outlines for the stories. All grades will be meeting again this week over lunch and we are hoping students will either bring a rough draft or an outline based on their interviews. The students will meet on the following days this week: Wednesday - 5th graders meet Thursday - 4th graders meet Friday - 3rd graders meet Note: Due to CSAP's we are meeting briefly over the designated lunchtime and encouraging the kids to get outside for their lunch recess to get some exercise and fresh air in. Our goal is to have the majority of the articles completed by Friday, March 21st. If your child needs Spring Break to complete their article and will have time to work on it during their week off, it may be submitted Monday when they return or emailed in over break. Students may email their advisors with their drafts for review at anytime. Finally, in terms of length of the articles. We've encouraged the kids to stay in the 500-word range. Most software programs have a word count function which should be useful for this. If you have any questions, please let me know! I hope you are all enjoying this project.
