1971 Mercury Cougar XR7
I bought this car in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the mid-80's and owned
it for a couple of years before selling it in Colorado. I added the
Running Lights which I thought looked cool - not everyone agrees with me! ;-)
The previous owner had added a few extra performance tweeks, and this car
was pretty quick off the line, although it was a slug in the curves -
your classic "muscle car" ... even down to the fire-engine red paint job.
I did get ticketed once on Base - I told the MP that I was driving
"pretty fast" on a remote part of Kirtland AFB in order to "blow-dry"
my car since I had just cleaned it - it really is the best way to
insure no water drops on your finish. Suffice to say, he didn't
think that was a good reason and gave me a ticket! ;-)
