Wendy says everything is going OK and is glad to hear that Dirk is OK too - that's it! ;-) Alek will, as typical, will say a bit more! ;-) After our unscheduled 24 hour stopover in Miami, logistics from there out have been pretty smooth. We spent 5 days at 3 different Safari camps in Botswana. These camps are amazing ... it's hard to describe how luxurious yet "natural/in-the-woods" they are. The food has been good and they keep feeding us ... between that and the 20+ hours we have been on airplanes and the 40+ hours on Range Rover game drives, my butt has grown! ;-) We have seen LOTS of wildlife REALLY close: Lion, Elephant, Giraff, Cape Buffalo, WildeBeast, Warthog, Hippo, and lots of others. Highlights are a lion eating a warthog killed and subsequently having it stolen by Hyena's, some mating lions, and a 3 week old baby giraffe. We arrived in Vic Falls yesterday ... and when I checked in at the hotel for "Alek & Wendy" the person next to me turned around and said "Hi Alek" ... it was Bryan Keith ... remember that Bryan & Julie are *BIKING* from Turkey to Cape Town ... and we met them here in Vic Falls. They are doing well and we rafted the Zambezi river today ... it was a bit disappointing since there is soooo much water that the rapids weren't as gnarly as they typically are, but we had a good time and it felt good to get some exercise. Mom's bonics have been working great as has Jon's Digital Camera. Although I underestimated the number of picures I would take and I grossly underestimated my battery consumption ... but I was able to reload here in Vic Falls. BTW, the pervasiveness of the Internet is amazing ... I was somewhat surprised two years ago to find an Internet Cafe in Chile ... they are all over the place here ... and Bryan & Julie have been able to find 'em on most of their travels. BTW, Yahoo must have tightened up some of their Email policies; because I can not "bcc" you all ... so that's why you know see all the Email addresses in these messages. We leave tomorrow morning for 5 days at camps in Zimbabwe; and I should be able to have Internet Access after that. Even though I here that the Dirkster is doing well; I continue to miss him and look forward to returning. alek
