Drygalski Fjord - South Georgia

After departing Grytviken, a short overnight cruise took us to Drygalski Fjord on the southeast coast of South Georgia near Cape Disappointment.
It is named after Professor Erich von Drygalski who was the leader of the 1901-1903 Antarctica expedition. While (relatively speaking) we didn't see that much wildlife (besides a bazillion birds near the Risting Glacier - must have been some sort of food source), the scenery was stupendous!

For those interested in more pictures, here a sequence of a glacier calving and a South Georgia Cape Petrel in Drygalski Fjord. As we ate brunch, the Ocean Nova cruised over to nearby Cooper Bay, South Georgia.
