"Flames" from converting Member's Mark BBQ Grill from LP->NG

Last Updated May 20, 2004. Shown below are a variety of pictures I took during the Member's Mark BBQ Grill conversion from LP (propane) to Natural Gas (NG). I think visually looking at flames (at night) is helpful in determining if you have clean combustion and also if you are at risk for a flame out - but I'm not sure how good an indicator of BTU output it is. BTW, I would often blow on a burner to see how it responded when I was tuning the LOW settings as my "test" to make sure it would not flame out; your mileage may vary and that isn't too scientific! ;-) Note that the photographed flame size/appearance/etc. was very dependant on the exposure time (especially when I re-hooked up the LP after drilling things out) ... but if nothing else, these are kinda cool to look at.
