2010 News/Media stuff about Alek's Controllable Christmas Lights for Celiac Disease

It been entertaining over the years to read the various media reports about my Christmas lights webcam. After getting my 15 minutes of fame for Christmas 2004 where there was international publicity about my lights, I'm happy to get at least 15 seconds in subsequent years to benefit the Celiac Disease fund-rasing effort - over $50,000 has been raised. There are wayyyy too many stories, link, commentaries, etc. to list, but here's a couple mentions that I thought were kinda interesting, noteable, and/or humorous.

2010_04_01: Denver's Westword magazine's annual "Best Of" issue selected my Christmas Display as their top pick in "Best Holiday Lighting - Amateur Division"

2009_11_18: Bloomberg Business Week has an article titled Christmas Lights, Taken to Extremes that mentions yours truly. While I was sorry to see the Celiac fund-raising aspect get cut from the story (editors can be meaner/tougher than the Grinch) my wife got a chuckle out of"Komarnitsky 'limits' his display to 20,000 lights" .. . HO-HO-HO! ;-)

2010_12_16: Rocketboom has an entertaining look at "The History of Christmas Lights on the Internet" that includes some historical footage of yours truly.

2010_12_23: WBAL TV in Baltimore, Maryland profiles the Center for Celiac Research in a segement titled "Celiac Disease Donors Help Spread Christmas Cheer"

The Christmas FAQ should answer most questions for 'ya. Lotsa lights on the christmas pictures page and they are even wind-powered and Carbon Neutral - Al Gore would be proud! Finally, I'm trying to raise money for the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research which is doing leading edge research into the causes and possible cures for Celiac. See their webcam page and/or give Pam King (pking@peds.umaryland.edu) a holler at 410-706-8021 for more info.
